What produces a result?
A sportsbook wager usually settles on an external event under published market rules. A casino game generally settles under its own game rules, such as a random draw, simulated reels or a dealt table outcome.

Prices and theoretical returns are different metrics
Sportsbook decimal odds can describe a particular selection’s gross payout if it wins; casino RTP describes a long-run theoretical proportion returned across many wagers. They should never be treated as interchangeable percentages.

Different verification questions
With sports, inspect the official event result, settlement source and rule for voids. With casino, inspect game rules, outcome verification where supported and published probability or edge information.

Shared risks persist
Both products can cause financial harm. Faster game cycles and live market changes are reasons to set hard time and spending boundaries, not reasons to chase losses.

Why payout multiples are not comparable without probabilities
Both a sportsbook and a casino game may show “2×”, but the underlying reference differs. A sports quote prices a specified event and selection; a casino multiplier appears within the rules of a particular game. Neither number alone states a reliable chance of success or the expected return once margins and settlement are accounted for.
At decimal odds of 2.00, the simple break-even probability is 50%. For a casino game offering a 2× gross multiplier on one outcome, the outcome probability and any game edge are needed before expected return can be calculated. Equating the two solely because both say 2× is an analytical error.
What each evidence source can prove
| Evidence type | Sportsbook question | Casino question |
|---|---|---|
| Rules | Which event settles the bet? | Which outcome triggers payout? |
| Prices/returns | Accepted decimal odds | Paytable, theoretical RTP where offered |
| Verification | Recorded ticket and official result | Game result and applicable fairness check |
| Availability | Events and region permitted | Games and region permitted |
Use the relevant evidence source for the question; do not treat promotion banners as settlement rules.
